Before we understood the womb as an organ, a symbol, a place of reproduction or even as something belonging to womanhood, there was the rahim, a primordial reality of enclosure, mercy, relationship, nourishment, formation and return.
The Primordial Womb is an invitation to enter this mystery.
Over four weeks, we will journey beneath the familiar understandings of the womb and explore its deeper spiritual, Quranic and cosmological dimensions.
Not simply what is the womb? But: What does the womb reveal about existence itself?
THE RAHIM IS OLDER THAN OUR UNDERSTANDING OF IT
The womb is our first home. Before language, there was rhythm. Before independence, there was dependence.
Before we knew separation, there was connection. Before we encountered the world, we were held within an unseen world.
The womb gives us a language through which we can begin to contemplate creation itself.
Through the language of rahmah, al-Rahman, al-Rahim and rahim, we will explore what the Islamic tradition reveals about the profound relationship between mercy, creation and the womb.

The Primordial Womb is an advanced study.
This course is for women who have already entered the work and are ready to go deeper.
To join, you must have completed either: Womb 101 or Spirituality of the Womb
This shared foundation allows us to move beyond introductory concepts and enter deeper territory together.
